Mio Lobban

Mio is a multi disciplinary creative. He specialises in script writing, directing, voice acting/acting, oil pastels, painting.


Mio draws inspiration in all their work from their experience as a black, trans, queer, working class person. His work typically mixes fantasy with thes surrounding marginalisation and other real world issues. His artwork is bright and colourful featuring black and queer figures. In theatre making, they love to explore how physical theatre and puppetry can tell stories pertaining heritage, queerness and myths.


Mio has featured in short film Monuments by Donmar Warehouse (2021), doing both physical theatre and voice acting. They also voiced the character Imogen in audio drama The Moonlight Circus (2023). He is currently working on his upcoming project, Baleen, a short play he wrote; directed and is performing in (May 2024).
